Dear MASP Community:
I am a second-year Psy.S. student in the school psychology program at University of Detroit Mercy. I received my M.A. in School Psychology from Michigan State University and my B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. I am currently seeking a school psychology internship with the possibility of stipend for the 2015-2016 academic school year. My training at University of Detroit Mercy emphasizes a scientist-practitioner model and prepares us to deliver a full range of school psychological services. I am interested in elementary and preschool populations, but would like to gain experience with all grade levels. I am also personally interested in literacy development, social skills development for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, evidence-based practices, and the Response to Intervention model. UDM trains us with a social-cognitive-ecological-behavioral perspective which focuses on evidence based practices, consultation based services, and behavior analytic interventions. If your district has a school psychology internship available, could you please provide me with the appropriate information regarding the application process or potential supervisors? I can send my Curriculum Vitae for your review and am happy to send any additional information that you may like to review. I can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would greatly appreciate any contact or procedural information you could provide. Thank you for your time and consideration.
